Charles Franklin Russell, 99, of McKinney, Texas, passed away May 16, 2018.
Charles was born Sept. 8, 1918, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to George Amos and Bess Evelyn (Myers) Russell. He married Elner Martha Kolsto on March 7, 1942, in Alexandria, La. Charles proudly served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He attended Iowa State University. Charles was a health inspector with the city of Cedar Rapids.
He is survived by his daughter, Sue Schultz and husband, Tomm, of McKinney, Texas; grandson, Russ Schultz and wife, Deidre, of Gainesville, Fla.; granddaughter, Kristin Petty and husband, Jeff, also of McKinney; great-grandchildren, Jace Petty, Colt Petty, Grayson Schultz, Aven Schultz, Neila Schultz, Arabel Schultz and Isaline Schultz; and a host of other loving family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife.
A memorial graveside service will be held at a later date.
