Wayne V. Schroeder was born Jan. 30, 1939, on the family farm near Postville, Iowa, the son of Lloyd and Clara Schroeder. Following graduation with the Class of 1957 from Postville High School, he enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving his country. On April 22, 1962, he married Twila Jane McNally in Postville. The couple raised their family there and Wayne carried on his father's insurance business, Schroeder Insurance of Postville, until his retirement in 2004. He and Twila moved to North Liberty to be closer to family members and there they made many new friends and, for Wayne, new golfing buddies! You could see Wayne enjoyed much in life, of course his golfing, fishing, hunting, gardening (especially roses), but also was a proud fan of the mighty Postville Pirates, Iowa Hawkeyes, Boston Celtics, New York Yankees and the Washington Redskins. But nothing was more important and dear to his heart than his family and friends. He was a good husband, father, grandpa and friend to many, and many have been blessed to have had him in their lives!
His family includes his wife, Twila; three sons, Larry Schroeder (Kathy), Mark Schroeder and Craig Schroeder (Stacy); grandchildren, Zeke, Kenzie, Adam, Halle, Cody and Haley; brothers, Kenny Schroeder and Keith Schroeder (Janet); and his sister, Marian Friederich.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Austin "Flash" Schroeder; and brother, Leo Schroeder.
