MARION -- A woman was injured Saturday night after a shooting that the Marion Police Department says stemmed from a family dispute.
According to a Marion Police media release, officers responded just after 9 p.m. on Saturday for a call of shots fired near the intersection of Ridge Drive and Southview Drive, just off of Twixt Town Road.
After officers arrived, they reported finding a “female subject” suffering from “non-life-threatening injuries.” No other information was provided about the person’s age or name.
The release stated that the police department does not feel there is any further danger to the public, as the shooting “appears to be a targeted incident stemming from a family dispute.”
Police say an investigation into the incident is ongoing and no further information will be made available at this time.
