‘Rate’ missing from Gazette tax cut coverage

The Sunday Gazette headline was "Legislators eye more tax cuts." when it should have stated " … eye more tax rate cuts." Most property owners noted that while their property tax rate went down last year, their taxes went up due to housing inflation. The paper essentially admitted this in the third paragraph when it stated "there will be essentially no revenue growth" admitting that the taxes will remain flat. The same falsehoods have appeared in the guest columns. Where is the paper's fact checker/editor?
