Burton A. "Burt" Maurer, 74, of Waterloo, died Sunday, Oct. 21, 2018, at UnityPoint Allen Hospital in Waterloo.
Survivors include a son, Brett (Jessica) Maurer of Walford; and two grandchildren, Brodie and Caden Maurer.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 26, at Garden of Memories Cemetery with full military honors. Public visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 25, and after 10 a.m. Friday at Garden View Chapel, 3655 Logan Ave., Waterloo.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Honor Flight, c/o Sullivan-Hartogh-Davis American Legion Post, P.O. Box 182, Cedar Falls, IA 50613.
