PATTI ANN MILLER MAROLF
Marion
Patti Ann Miller Marolf went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2018, just seven months after her husband, Bruce Edmund Marolf, passed away. Patti and Bruce were married on March 12, 1960.
Visitation will be held from 8:45 to 10:15 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 15, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion. Funeral services will begin at 10:15 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, conducted by Pastor Troy Weigert. Burial will take place at 12:30 p.m. Saturday at Oakland Cemetery, Iowa City.
Patti was born July 29, 1939, in Iowa City, Iowa. She attended Horace Mann Elementary, Iowa City City High School and the University of Iowa. Patti worked as a legal secretary most of her life at various offices. She was very proud of her Czech heritage. Patti was involved with the Czech Foundation and Sokol events, participated with her granddaughters in the Czech School programs, and made a lifetime trip to the Czech Republic. She was a St. Luke's Auxiliary Life Member for her many years of volunteer work.
Patti will be remembered for her superior organizational skills and tasty holiday dinners, inviting anyone who didn't have a place to go. She loved shopping at the "junk" stores and garage sales, and was devoted to her granddaughters.
Left to cherish her memories are her daughter, Dana Marolf, and husband, Bob Roper; son, Bryce Marolf, and wife, Colleen; two granddaughters, Hannah Waters (fiance, Aron Heser) and Vanessa Waters (fiance, Maxwell Wacha); and three great-grandchildren, Makalyn, Madison and Owen.
Also surviving are a sister, Roxann L. Miller Gracia; a brother, Karl E. Miller; four nieces; and five nephews.
Preceding Patti in death were her husband, Bruce; parents, Iola Ambrose Miller and Clair E. Miller; her beloved grandmothers, Albia Yavorsky Miller and Lena Shields Ambrose; and her grandfathers.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial may be directed in Patti's memory to Czech School-St. Ludmila Church at 2107 J St. SW, Cedar Rapids, IA 52404 or to Winslow House Care Center-Activities Director at 3456 Indian Creek Rd., Marion, IA 52302.
