Joan L. (Lund) Derlein, age 86, passed away at the UnityPoint St. Luke’s Hospital, in Cedar Rapids, IA on Wednesday, January 3, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.
A visitation will be held at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home on Friday, January 5, 2024, from 4 to 7 PM. A private gravesite service will be held at a later date at the Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery-Garden of Serenity.
Joan was born on February 22, 1937, in Stoughton, WI. She was the daughter of the late Gilbert and Olga (Dahl) Lund. On August 3, 1957, Joan married the love of her life, Richard Derlein in McFarland, WI.
Those left to cherish Joan’s memory are her children, Jeffrey (Robin) Derlein, of Cedar Rapids, IA, Kristi (Perry) Perez, of Cedar Rapids, IA, Brenda, Scott, Teresa, and Michael (Deanna) Derlein, all of Cedar Rapids, IA; her grandchildren, Tyler Derlein, Logan Black Marchand, Jennifer Wagner, and Chad Derlein; two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and her siblings, Donna Sowle, Shirley Lindelien, and Richard Lund.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the family.
The family would like the entire staff at the St. Luke’s Hospice team for all the love and support they showed Joan while she was in their care.
