What to know: This is a matchup of the Big Ten’s highest-scoring teams. Michigan State (92.5 points per game) is third nationally and has crossed the 100-point plateau four time this season; Iowa (90.8 ppg) is No. 7.
Robyn Fralick is in her first year as the Spartans’ head coach. She spent her previous five years at Bowling Green, leading the Falcons to a 31-7 mark in 2022-23.
Four Spartans are averaging in double figures, led by Moira Joyner (16.4 ppg).
Iowa’s Caitlin Clark leads the nation in scoring (30.9 points per game) and is fifth in assists (7.6 per game).
Clark is No. 5 all-time in career scoring at 3,149 points. At her current scoring rate this season, she would catch Kelsey Plum atop the chart (3,527) when the Hawkeyes play at Indiana on Feb. 22.
After two league games, the Hawkeyes are in a four-way tie for first in the Big Ten, along with Indiana, Michigan and Nebraska. The Hawkeyes’ 10-game win streak is their longest since 2004-05.
