Shame on Reynolds for denying extra EBT benefits

Gov. Kim Reynolds Is doing her best to solve Iowa's 16% child obesity rate. Now, she has declined the federal government’s offer of extra EBT benefits for children in the summertime. By the way, children's obesity is at 16% is nothing compared to Iowa adult whopping rate of 47%. Her plan of not giving parents an extra $40 per month should be an insult to all Iowans, not just school-age parents. Shame on you, governor. Controlling obesity by withholding food for children should be a crime. Its good, however, that your refusal of extra benefits over summer vacation happens on the cusp on an election year. Hopefully, Iowans will remember this when they vote.
