Ruth Reed McKinney born in Lansing, Iowa, on Dec. 23, 1921, to Joseph (JB) and Hedwig Reed passed away peacefully at home on Dec. 09, 2023, at age 101 years and 11 months. She leaves behind a son Michael McKinney and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents & siblings, Juliet Reed Meyer (Harry), Dorothy Reed Walter (Edward), Robert Reed (Della) Bruce Reed (Maxine) and their spouses, three nephews and two nieces.
After graduating high school she worked at the office of GE Power Co. in Lansing. She married Harlan (Mack) McKinney in 1956. She also worked at Collins Radio in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
She loved to walk a paper route and watching seasons change. She worked in consignment shops.
Per her request there will be no services. She willed her body to The University of Iowa for Science. If you wish to leave a memorial please donate to your favorite charity.
