Dolores LaGrange, 90, of Amana, passed away Sunday, Dec. 10, 2023, at
Meadowview Memory Care in Cedar Rapids. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 15, at St. Michael Catholic Church, Norway, with Rev. Jake Dunne officiating. Burial: Lennox Cemetery, Norway. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday at Teahen Funeral Home and after 9:30 a.m. on Friday at the church. Teahen Funeral Home, Cedar Rapids, is handling funeral arrangements.
Dolores was born April 6, 1933, to George and Mary Lillie Schoenfelder in rural Norway. On Jan. 29, 1963, Dolores married Robert Lagrange in Sioux Falls, S.D., and together they raised three children.
Dolores enjoyed helping Robert farm. They also enjoyed gardening. Working together and always had a beautiful yard wherever they lived. She loved sitting out watching butterflies and imitating the birds’ singing.
When she was younger Dolores loved to paint as did her father. Her many beautiful paintings adorned her home along with her collection of angels.
Dolores is survived by sisters Elaine Albertson and Evelyn Escerich; children, Vernon (Brenda) Hartson of Cedar Rapids and Mary (Eric) Foreman of Yellville, Ark.; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Robert who passed away on Oct. 1, 2017; her parents; a daughter, Antoinette Strawhorn; an infant granddaughter, Sariah Beth Hartson; her sisters, Katherine (Kay) Behrens, Jeanette Hemphill, Georgia Geiger, AnnaMay Bebee and Alice Barkhurst and brother Raymond Smoley.
