Victor Wallace Pittman, 93, of Springville, Iowa, passed away on Monday, Dec. 11, 2023, at his home. Family will greet friends from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 17, 2023, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Marion, Iowa.
Victor was born on Aug. 20, 1930, in Goodridge, Minn., the son of William Warren and Ruth Catherine (Boyce) Pittman. He served honorably in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. On June 20, 1954, Victor was united in marriage to Marlene Adella Hanson in Grygla, Minn. Victor spent his career working for the Univac Corporation, the last 30 years at the University of Iowa Physics Department. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Victor is survived and lovingly remembered by his children Steven (Phillis) Pittman of Fairfax, Iowa, Carla (Bill) Beem of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Dave Pittman of Springville, daughter-in-law Mariana Keros of Birmingham, Mich., and Janet (Al) Foell of Iowa City, Iowa; five grandchildren, Chris (Amy) Beem, Ben Beem, Michael (Allie) Pittman, Callie (Ryan) Trewin, and Alexann (Alex) Davis; eight great-grandchildren, Libbie, Ella, and Macie Trewin, Ava and Hunter Beem, Harriet & Elliot Davis and June Pittman; siblings, Ila Hagen, George Pittman, Sharon Johnson, all of Minnesota; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Marlene; parents; brother Art Pittman, and four stepbrothers, Willis “Bud,” Donald, Gordon, and Raymond.
