CEDAR RAPIDS — The Cedar Rapids Kernels announced Friday that the Minnesota Twins annual winter caravan will make a stop in Cedar Rapids next month.
The 2024 Twins Winter Caravan will be held in conjunction with a Kernels championship celebration Jan. 23 at The Annex hitting facility adjacent to Veterans Memorial Stadium from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Tickets to the event are $30 and available online. They are being limited to 200.
“What a year to have the caravan return to Cedar Rapids” Kernels General Manager Scott Wilson said. “After such a tremendous season and culminating in the championship for the Kernels, it is an honor to host the caravan for Twins and Baseball fans alike.”
Longtime Twins radio broadcaster and former Twins outfielder Dan Gladden will emcee the event. Twins players Willi Castro and Caleb Thielbar also are scheduled to appear, as is Kernels Manager Brian Dinkelman, who skippered the club to the 2023 Midwest League championship and who will return for the 2024 season.
