Erma Faye (Doyel) Neve, 92, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2023, at her rural Vinton home, with her loving family by her side.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 9, 2023, at the Oak Grove Church in rural Shellsburg with Pastor Matt Magee officiating. Interment will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in Vinton. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 8, 2023, also at the church. A memorial fund has been established.

Erma was born on Aug. 19, 1931, in Holt, Mo., the daughter of Jackson and Joy (Neff) Doyel. Her family moved to Iowa when she was 5. She was united in marriage to Donald A. Neve, on June 6, 1949. The couple had six children.

Erma had many interests and hobbies. She helped on the farm, and worked at Coast to Coast, and Theisen’s until her retirement.

Erma most of all enjoyed everything with family, they meant so much to her, and she loved them very much.

She is survived by her six children, Pam (Mark) Boddicker, Kathy Miller, Joyce (John) Barton, Peg (Steve) Cronk, Donnie (Joy) Neve, Ronnie (Duska) Neve; 18 grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and special nephew Butch (Gina) Neve, and niece Diana (Lee) DeMoss.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Don; son-in-law, Van Miller; sisters, Oma, Velma, Adah; brother Nathan; and twin great-grandsons.

God was the center of her life!
