MILDRED D. (OSBORN) SILHANEK

Mildred D. (Osborn) Silhanek, 76, of Cedar Rapids, died Thursday, Feb. 25, 2021, at UnityPoint-St. Luke's Hospital. A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date. There will be a visitation on Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Following the continued guidance from health officials, physical distancing must be practiced, which requires a limited number of people allowed into the visitation at one time. The use of facemasks or shields is required.
Survivors include a son, Garry (Becky) Copeland of Cedar Rapids; five grandchildren, Morgan (Evan), Haeley, Tyler, Ryley and Abby (Juan); four great-grandchildren, Maizik, Louie, Logan and Indi; two sisters, Chotti and Sherri; three brothers, Darrell (Judy), Mike (Susan) and Kieth (Debbie); as well as many nieces, nephews and a large extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Mildred was born on Sept. 27, 1944, in Newton, the daughter of Wayne and Elizabeth (Betty) Holder Osborn. She was the family caregiver and was always there for her family. She will forever be remembered as a caring and thoughtful mother, sister and grandmother, whose memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved her.
