Sharon Lee (Cooley) Wilson, 76, a loving, kind, and strong woman, passed away peacefully from natural causes on Sunday, Nov. 26, 2023 at Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy. Born on Aug. 21, 1947 in Cedar Rapids to Wilford Cooley and Vera Gatrelle, Sharon was the cherished sister of Melvin, Jane, Ernie, Robin, and Beverly.
Sharon was a hard worker, spending much of her career driving semi-trucks and exploring the country. She held various roles, from waitress to chauffeur, always serving with dedication and grace.
Sharon’s love for her family was evident in her devotion to her children, Scott (Jolene), Nikki (Blair), Martha (Don), and Angela (Ryan); and her grandchildren, Tiffany, Shondra, Toni, Jacob, Drew, and Hayden. She also delighted in her great-grandchildren, Devin, Adrien, Kieran, and Anduin.
A lover of wolves and roses, Sharon’s collection of wolves and rose items and paintings were a testament to her appreciation of beauty and strength. She was always willing to lend a helping hand, and her unconditional love for those close to her was a lesson she imparted to all who knew her.
In accordance with her wishes, there will be no services, but a Celebration of Life will be held to honor Sharon’s memory at a later date. Her legacy of love, kindness, and strength will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established. Please send contributions to Scott Sanders, 5531 Klinger Street S.W., Cedar Rapids, Iowa 52404.
Papich-Kuba Funeral Service is serving the family.
