Mary Reeve, 89, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away peacefully Monday, Nov. 27, 2023, at Emery Place in Robins, Iowa. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 30, 2023, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Cedar Rapids. Funeral Service: 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 1, 2023, at the funeral home. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Mary was born Dec. 21, 1933, in Delta, Iowa, the daughter of John and Dorothy (Bryant) Ross. She graduated from Wilson High School in Cedar Rapids. Mary was united in marriage to Earl Otis Reeve on April 17, 1954. She worked as a secretary for Norand Corporation and retired in 1991. Mary was a member of Sharon United Methodist Church and the American Women’s Business Association. She loved painting and thrifting at secondhand stores. Her favorite time was spent with her grandchildren. Mary will be missed and her memory cherished.
Survivors include her children, Bob (Barb) Reeve and Holly (DeWayne) Svoboda; significant other, Bruce Chase; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three siblings; husband, Earl Reeve; and infant son, James Reeve.
