Civility is needed on Capitol Hill

In her Wall Street Journal column last week, conservative columnist, Peggy Noonan, wrote about “ … the crisis of comportment on Capitol Hill.” She went on to point out Rep. McCarthy’s “shove” of Rep. Burchett; the incident when Sen. Mullin challenged Teamsters President O'Brien to a fight; Rep. Comer’s and Rep. Moskowitz’s interchange; a similar interchange between Rep. Issa and Rep. Taylor Greene; when Rep. Taylor Greene was heard to call Rep. Boebert “a little b****;” and when Democrat Rep. Bowman pulled the fire alarm.
Echoing Ms. Noonan, “It makes democracy look cruddy and small, like something shrinking before our eyes.” Sens. Grassley and Ernst and Rep. Hinson each impress me as someone who finds this behavior unacceptable. Even if there seems to be a huge partisan divide, I also suspect there are a huge number (if not the majority) of the Senate and the House from both parties who feel the same way. Clearly a bipartisan call for civility is needed.
