Nicholas “Nick” Troy Pearson, 21, of Swisher died Friday, Nov. 17, 2023, in a motor vehicle accident after suffering an epileptic seizure at the wheel. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 24, 2023, at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling St. SW. Celebration of Life Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 25, 2023, at Shueyville Church, located at 1195 Steeple Lane NE, Swisher, Iowa.
Nicholas was born Sept. 4, 2002, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of John and Jill Pearson. He graduated from Cedar Rapids Prairie High School in 2021 where he left his mark as a talented, multi-sport athlete. He shined on the football field, wrestling mat, and track, earning numerous conference, district, and state honors in addition to setting school records. As a member of the Shueyville Church youth group, he spent many hours deepening and sharing his faith and serving others. Following high school, Nick spent a year at the University of Iowa before choosing to work at Proctor and Gamble. Nick lived boldly, fearlessly, on his own terms, with positivity and no regrets. He was unavoidable in any room, and everyone who knew Nick, has an epic story about him. Nick will be fondly remembered for his charm, cheeky grin, big heart, amazing hugs, personal style, and his status as a self-proclaimed lemonade connoisseur.
Nick is survived by his parents John and Jill Pearson; brother Anthony Pearson (Kirsten Skriver); sister Gabrielle Pearson; grandparents Patrick and Cheryl Pearson, and Glen and Carolyn Gradert; uncles Jason (Kris) Gradert and Jarod Gradert; and countless friends, teammates, mentors, and parents who loved him like their own.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Nicholas Pearson Memorial Fund.
