Douglas Donald Crosby, 71, of Cedar Rapids passed away suddenly on Saturday, Nov. 18, 2023. A private graveside service will be held at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Doug was born on Jan. 13, 1952, at Sheppard A.F.B. in Wichita Falls, Texas, to Donald and Lora (Hosler) Crosby. Doug spent most of his life in Iowa, until he enlisted into the U.S. Air Force. He later returned to Iowa working for 40-plus years as a reliability engineer. He worked for Norand, Intermec, Honeywell, and Collins Aerospace.
Doug was a natural teacher and student in life. He shared his experiences and skills to help others to learn and grow their own strengths. He was well loved and will be missed greatly by all of the lives he had touched.
He is survived by wife Margaret; children, Jennifer Crosby (Aaron Tucker) of Bend, Ore., and Matthew Crosby of Indianapolis, Ind.; grandchildren, Emma Crosby (Chris Harding), “Ike” Caylee Crosby, and Dom Santulli; great-grandson Caspian Harding.
Doug was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings Kreg Crosby and Devora Crosby, sister-in-law Char Gilbertson, and his nephew Julius Bryan.
