Mary Louise Burns, 74, of Marion, Iowa, passed away on Friday, Nov. 10, 2023, at her home. The family will greet friends from 5 - 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2023, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Marion. A private family Celebration of Life will be held at a later time.
Mary was born on Dec. 29, 1948, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Richard Dean and Ruth Irene (Wickham) Arp. Mary will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Mary is survived by her husband, Steven; three children, Brandon (Jennifer) Fairbanks and their children, Tylor and Cory, of Marion, Brion (Tia) Fairbanks and their children, Caleb, Kylie, Peyton, and Lyllie, of Cedar Rapids, and Brook Fairbanks of North Liberty; stepdaughter, Myla Burns (Dave Elger) of Reno, Nevada; stepson, Greg Burns (Hannah Alt) of Lakewood, Colorado; half-sister, Suzie Faenger of Rolla, Missouri; and special friends, Vicki Eichhorst, Barb Kerr, Rod and Dana Miller and family, all of Marion.
She was preceded in death by her parents; stepson, Eric Burns; brother, Gary Arp; and sister-in-law, Diane Arp.
The family would like to thank PCI Oncology and UnityPoint Hospice for the care Mary received.
