Melissa Jo Stiers, 65, of Cedar Rapids, passed away on Saturday, November 4, 2023, at the Dennis & Donna Oldorf Hospice House following a lengthy illness. Per Melissa's wishes, there will be no services.
Melissa was born August 16, 1958, in Carthage, Ill., to Harold and Katherine Johnson. She spent most of her life in Cedar Rapids, working in the fields of payroll and property management, most recently for Keyway Management Co. She enjoyed spending time with her family (especially her great-niece Kira), trying out new recipes, and listening to music. She was known for her sense of humor and her ability to make people laugh no matter the situation.
Melissa is survived by her husband, Scott Stiers; sister Karen (John) Wustrow; niece Sarah Hansen; and great-niece Kira.
As Melissa was a dog-lover all her life, memorials may be directed to PAW Fort Madison Animal Shelter.
