Rookie Kris Murray of Iowa got his first NBA blocked shot Wednesday night. It came against …
Keegan Murray.
The twins from Iowa and Cedar Rapids met for the first time on opposing sides Wednesday night in Sacramento. Keegan’s Sacramento Kings beat Kris’ Portland Trail Blazers in overtime, 121-118.
Kris, a rookie, had appeared in just two of the Blazers’ first seven games but entered Wednesday’s game in the first half. He blocked a jumper by Keegan, with the ball going out of bounds.
After in-bounding the ball on the same possession, Keegan hit a tough corner 3-pointer.
The Murrays’ father, mother and sister were in the stands to witness the game.
Kris played nine minutes off the bench. He took just one shot and didn’t score, and still is looking for his first NBA points.
Keegan had nine points in the game on 4-of-17 shooting. He is averaging 12.3 points. He is shooting 33.7 percent from the field and 25 percent from 3-point distance over seven games. He made 41.1 percent of his 3s last season.
