Lora Ann (Kloubec) Shramek, 55, of Amana, passed away peacefully on Monday, Nov. 6, 2023, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 10, 2023, at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling St. SW. Memorial Mass will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 11, 2023, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Oxford. Private family burial will be at Hala Cemetery.
Lora Shramek was born July 4, 1968, in Bremerhaven, Germany, daughter of Gary Lee and Dolores Jean (Martin) Kloubec. She grew up enjoying 4-H receiving multiple awards including club, county, state, and national honors. Lora graduated from Cedar Rapids Prairie High School, Class of 1986. She earned a Business Administration degree from the University of Iowa, and an MBA from Nova Southeastern University. On Aug. 22, 1992, Lora was united in marriage to Don Shramek at Holy Trinity Church in Walford. She started her career at the Gazette and spent 25 years as the Director of Human Resources for Johnson County. She enjoyed shopping, antiquing, traveling, and most of all spending time with her family.
Lora is survived by her husband Don; son Cade; mother Dolores Kloubec; siblings Monte (Jaime) Kloubec and Kellie (Matt) Stallman; in-laws Roger and Alma Shramek, Darlene (Scott) Owens, DeeAnn (Lynn) Shonka, Deborah Schott; her nieces and nephews; and her beloved cat Sneaky.
She was preceded in death by her father Gary and brother-in-law Tim.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Johnson County 4-H, Miracles in Motion, or to Monroe Township Fire Department in her name.
