Julianne L. Suckow, 75, of Cedar Rapids, passed away on Nov. 5, 2023, following a long illness. Services will be held Thursday, Nov. 9, 2023, at Trinity Lutheran Church. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. with funeral at 11. A committal service will be held at the graveside following the funeral at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Julianne was born on Oct. 8, 1948, in New Prague, Minn., to Harold and Louise (Rolf) Latzke. After high school she worked at SuperValue as a lab technician. She then worked as a news director at a radio station before transiting to working at a group home. A position at Rockwell Collins then opened as a Senior Line Operator. While at Collins she met her husband, Larry Suckow, whom she married on Jan. 9, 1999. After retiring from Collins, she began working as a caregiver for three years before retiring permanently. Julianne loved to cook, always from scratch, and enjoyed having family gather together to sample her food. As a gift for her father-in-law, she provided one pie of his choice every month. She also loved to watch the birds and was especially pleased to see the hummingbirds.
Those left to cherish Julianne’s memory are her husband, Larry; son Aaron Larson of Eagan, Minn.; siblings Jim (Jan) Latzke of Henderson, Minn., Corinne (Roger) Brenke of St. Peter, Minn., Kurt (Patty) Latzke of Belle Plaine, Minn., Kevin Latzke of Le Sueur, Minn., as well as many nephews and nieces.
Julianne was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Louise.
The family would like to thank the staff at Living Center West for their care for Julianne.
