Michael Eric Zinkula, 65, of Mount Vernon, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, October 31, 2023, at Cottage Grove Place, Cedar Rapids, Iowa. A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held Sunday November 12, 2023, from 3:00-5:00 pm at Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services in Mount Vernon, Iowa.
Mike was born October 23, 1958, in Davenport, Iowa, on January 6, 1959, Mike was a long awaited and prayed for addition to the Zinkula family when Joseph and Emma Zinkula adopted him.
Mike lived in the Mount Vernon area and graduated from Mount Vernon Schools and then continued to farm his entire life.
Mike is survived by his sister, Leanne Zinkula; two aunts, Sheryl Zinkula and Florence (Pete) Smith; and many first cousins.
Mike was proceeded in death by his parents, Joseph and Emma (Trejtnar) Zinkula.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in support of cancer research, University of Iowa Center for Advancement Cancer Department, P.O. Box 4550, Iowa City, Iowa 52244-4550.
