Betty Jean Kacena, 89, of Iowa City passed away on Sunday, Oct. 22, 2023, at Legacy Pointe in Iowa City.
A private visitation was held on Thursday, Oct. 26, 2023, at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service, Iowa City. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, Nov. 4, 2023, at 11:30 a.m. at the Memory Gardens Cemetery Mausoleum, 2600 Muscatine Ave., Iowa City. Following the graveside service, a gathering to celebrate Betty’s life will be held at The Kirkwood Room, 515 Kirkwood Ave., Iowa City, until 2:30 p.m.
Betty will be deeply missed by her children, Pam Rockafellow of North Liberty, Kevin Kacena, Sharon Lake, and Linda Seydel, all of Iowa City; eight grandchildren, Leigha Rios (Brad) of North Liberty, Ryan Rockafellow (Emily) of North Liberty, Kristene Lake (Nate) of Des Moines, Kelly Carlson (Chris) of Tiffin, Michelle Greve (Jason) of Coralville, Bob Lake (Daniella) of Swisher, Colton Seydel (Abby) of Austin, Texas, and Anna Seydel (Nathan) of Kansas City, Mo.; nine great-grandchildren; and sisters Virginia Stahle and Judith Earley.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; and sisters Lois Wilhem and Janice Miller.
