Imogene Louise Johnson, 83, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away Thursday, Oct. 26, 2023, at WestRidge Care Center in Cedar Rapids. Funeral Service: 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2023, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Visitation will begin one hour prior. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Imogene was born Dec. 13, 1939, in Olin, Iowa, the daughter of Waldo and Della (Lassere) Hart. She graduated from Wilson High School in 1957. On Dec. 15, 1957, Imogene was united in marriage to Harlan Johnson Sr. in Aiken, S.C. She loved crocheting, needlepoint, and painting. Imogene was a devoted volunteer at St. Luke’s Hospital and enjoyed her time as Lovey Bear. She retired from Vigortone after 20 years of service. Imogene will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her husband, Harlan Johnson Sr.; son, Harlan Jr. (Tammy) Johnson of Marion, Iowa; grandchildren, Joshua (Joslin) Johnson and Holli Johnson; great-grandchildren, Kannon Johnson, Karmen Martinez and Kaisson Martinez; and siblings, Walter Kraus, Betty Lou Coquillette, Joanne Wilken, Irvin Hart and Harry Hart.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Waldo and Della Hart, and son, Lloyd Johnson.
The family would like to extend a special thank-you to everyone at MeadowView, WestRidge and Mercy Hospic,e as well as to a very special nephew, Richard Wilken.
