My name is Brittania Morey and I am running for re-election to the Linn-Mar Community School Board.
It has been an honor to serve the Linn-Mar community over the last four years. The wealth of experience during my time on the board has only solidified my belief that our success as individuals, families, and as a community lie in a strong education system. My husband and I moved to Marion seven years ago, specifically for the quality education offered in the Linn-Mar district. It’s the best decision we have made for our family.
When we as a community invest in education, we are investing in our future and though these last few years have presented unprecedented challenges, the future at Linn-Mar is bright.
During this time, I have witnessed the resilience and determination of our educators, parents, and students. Through collaborative efforts, we have made it through a pandemic and a derecho, and still achieved significant milestones that have positively impacted the quality of education in our district.
One of my proudest achievements during my tenure as president has been spearheading the development and goal-setting for the district strategic plan. This comprehensive plan has provided a road map for our district's future, outlining key initiatives and benchmarks to ensure continuous improvement. I am committed to seeing these goals through and building upon the foundation we have laid.
In addition to my role as president of the board for the past two years, I have served four years on the Finance/Audit Committee. This experience has afforded me a deep understanding of school finance and budgetary matters. In times of economic uncertainty, such expertise becomes invaluable in ensuring responsible fiscal management. I am determined to continue applying this knowledge to make informed decisions that prioritize the financial well-being of our schools while maintaining a focus on delivering high-quality education.
As we face ongoing challenges and opportunities in education, I believe my experience, dedication, and collaborative approach uniquely position me to contribute to the continued success of our school district. I am passionate about fostering an environment that nurtures the growth and development of every student, preparing them for a bright and successful future.
I humbly ask for the support of our community as I seek re-election to the Linn-Mar board. Together, we can continue the tradition of excellence Linn-Mar is known for, empowering our students and ensuring the success of our schools.
Brittania Morey is is one of eight candidates running for four at-large seats on the Linn-Mar school board.
