Weekend Election Open Thread

Oct. 28, 2011 6:09 am
I'm taking a three-day weekend, but I'll leave the joint open for any election (city/state/caucuses) thoughts you might have and want to hash out with the commentariat. Maybe there are issues/stories you'd like to see covered in the last week before Nov. 8. Feel free to float them below.
Senate District 18 rivals Liz Mathis and Cindy Golding forumed again last eve. My daughter's first grade concert, a Fall Extravaganza, no less, was also last night, so I did not attend the forum. But James Lynch's account is here. Sounds like it was a little less contentious than Wednesday night's tilt. If you were there, tell us what you thought.
The Gazette's CR City Council endorsements started running this am and will continue through the weekend. Sound off on the paper's picks and whether you think newspapers should even be in the endorsing biz. Whenever I speak to groups, that's always a hot topic.
The Des Moines Register releases a much-anticipated Iowa Poll on the GOP caucus race at 7 p.m. Saturday night. I have a feeling it will reflect a race that still remains sort of fluid. After it pops, share any thoughts, gripes. And if you are a likely caucusgoer, who's your pick at this hour?
But above all, have a fine weekend.
