ImOn expanding into Siouxland

Cedar Rapids-based ImOn Communications, a provider of high-speed fiber internet, TV and phone services, is expanding outside Iowa for the first time.

ImOn is commencing to build fiber-to-the-home internet infrastructure in Dakota Dunes, S.D., an unincorporated community about 5 minutes from downtown Sioux City.

"We are excited to bring the power of fiber-optic technology to the Siouxland area, starting with the residents of Dakota Dunes,“ Patrice Carroll, president and CEO of ImOn Communications, said in a news release.

FiberComm, an ImOn company, is leading the construction.

The company plans to expand further in Siouxland, a tri-state area that encompasses portions of northwest Iowa, southeast South Dakota and northeast Nebraska, a company spokesman said.

ImOn services are now available in Cedar Rapids, Hiawatha, Marion, Iowa City, Coralville, Dubuque, Asbury, Peosta, Epworth, Farley and Dyersville.
