Wilmer J. “Skeeter” Grage, 73, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away on Oct. 8, 2023, in his home. In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place and no formal funeral services will be held. There will be a private graveside service at a later date. Dawson Funeral Home of Oxford Junction is assisting the family.
Skeeter was born on Oct. 4, 1950, in Jackson County, the son of Wilmer and Ellen (Stowers) Grage. He graduated from Oxford Junction High School and earned his AA from Kirkwood College in Cedar Rapids. He first worked at Rockwell Collins, then Harnischfeger Corporation and Iowa Implement. He finished his career at Toyota Financial Services in Cedar Rapids as a Claims Analyst. On June 26, 2004, he was united in marriage to Brenda (Benhart) Petit at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa
Skeeter is survived and lovingly remembered by his wife of 19 years, Brenda; stepdaughter and stepson-in-law, Angela and Curt Lichter of Maquoketa, Iowa. He is also survived by his four-legged kids, Mik, Hunter and Kali.
He was preceded in death by his parents and several aunts & uncles.
