Rev. Brenda K Goodall, 56, of Cedar Rapids, formerly of Mount Vernon, died Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2023.

At Brenda’s request, there will be no formal services. However, Brenda’s friends are welcome to join the family for a Friendsgiving/ Celebration of life on Nov. 19 from noon until 3 p.m., held at the Palo Community Center in Palo, Iowa. Thanksgiving dinner and drinks will be provided.

A private family gravesite service will be conducted.

Brenda is survived by her FFF (Future Foster Father), Johnny Depp (dream husband); children, Carolynne Goodall, Katherine Dudley and Angela Vilafana; four sisters and three brothers.

She was preceded in death by her parents Dale and Peggy Goodall; and special friend Ryan Faurote.

Due to her first love of youth ministry, Brenda started her career as site director at the YMCA before and after daycare program. Feeling the need to further

serve God and children, Brenda got her Masters in Theology at the University of Dubuque. Brenda became a United Methodist Minister, serving the church for 25 plus years. Brenda was blessed with large parsonages where she was able to provide a loving home to many foster daughters and foreign exchange daughters.

In lieu of flowers, Brenda would have liked us all to provide Christmas gifts for the Iowa Foster and Adoption Association. Donations may be brought to the Friendsgiving Celebration.
