This November, Cedar Rapidians have a number of choices for director at large in the CRCSD school board race. One of my choices will be Cindy Garlock. As a teacher, parent and community member, she has spent her adult life committed to the students in the Cedar Rapids Community School District.
Most of Cindy’s 33-year career was spent as lead teacher at Kennedy High School where she was chair of the science department. She Also taught science at Taft and Wilson Middle Schools and is familiar with the needs of our students, parents and teachers in the district.
Cindy attends legislative advocacy and community and community listening sessions. She is currently vice president of the school board and legislative liaison. Cindy is vocal about local control and advocates for the use of public tax dollars for public schools. Cindy would like to see updated facilities and believes that all students should have a safe environment in which to learn.
If reelected, Cindy will continue to advocate for the inclusion of every Cedar Rapids student in top-notch education. A vote for Cindy Garlock is a vote for quality of life for each student who attends school in our district.
