Roberta was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard; son Mike; brother, Bill; and granddaughters Nicole and Samantha.
Roberta was born on April 26, 1934, daughter of Robert and Eunice Thomas Cook in Independence. She graduated from Center Point High School, where she enjoyed playing basketball. She married Richard Reid in 1955 and they were blessed with nine children. She worked for the College Community School District from 1979 until her retirement in 1996. During that time she worked as an elementary paraprofessional, elementary secretary and high school secretary.
Roberta was a person of strong Catholic faith and instilled the importance of family and faith in her children, whom she was always there for. She was a true role model who they always looked up to and a source of inspiration and will be deeply missed. She was a Cub Scout den mother, on the parish council for St. Patrick’s church in Fairfax as well as a lector, Eucharistic minister and usher. She also enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, Sudoku, travel, playing cards, cooking for her large family and hearing her children laugh together. We love you so much. Rest in peace with the Lord, Mom.
Special thanks for Father Richmond, Deacon Stan and his wife, Hospice of Mercy and in house hairstylist Roland.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to Hospice of Mercy and Camp Courageous.
