Ardith, Y. Vasey, Age 84, of Monticello, IA, passed away at the UnityPoint St. Luke’s Hospital on Sunday, October 8, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.
A visitation will be held at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home on Thursday, October 12, 2023, from 4 to 7 PM. A funeral service will be held at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories on Friday, October 13, at 11 AM with Deacon Jeff Volker officiating. Interment to follow at the Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery-Acacia.
Ardith was born on January 31, 1939, in Austin, MN. She was the daughter of the late Alfred and Emma (Mensink) Severson. On January 31, 1959, Ardith married the love of her life, Carl Vasey in Des Moines, IA. She was a retail supervisor of Kmart where she worked until her retirement. In her 40-year retirement she spent her time in Sun City, AZ. She loved to golf.
Ardith is survived by her sons, Mark, Mike (Connie), Craig, and Brett (Dorene); her grandchildren, Justin, Quinn, Justice, Grace, Amanda, Claire, and Zachariah; her five great-grandchildren, Kadlin, Rutledge, Bowen, Isla, and Carlee; her two sisters, Jenny, of Rose Creek, MN and Cheryl, of Bonham, TX. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and her eight siblings.
Memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Calvary Community Church.
The family would like to thank the entire staff at UnityPoint St. Luke’s Hospital for all the love and support, they showed Ardith while she was in their care.
