Yolanda (Landy) Sue Atencio, 41, of Vinton, IA, passed into glory with full assurance of faith in Jesus Christ, October 7, 2023, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids, IA, surrounded and dearly loved by her family.
Landy was born October 30, 1981, in Iowa City to George and Sue Atencio. She was an intelligent, hard-working woman who could do many jobs well. Most recently she was employed at Ron Da Voo restaurant in Vinton. She enjoyed tennis, pickleball, and spending time with her family and friends. She was kind-hearted and proud of her son Sheldon and his accomplishments.
Left to cherish her memory are Sheldon Varner, George (Jane) Atencio, Sue (Jeff) Harnish, sisters Jenny Atencio, Janis Johnson, Molli (Brandon) Hunter, and Amy (Iain) Weir; brothers Justin Van Dyke, Brian (Amber Schroeder) Harnish, and Brent Harnish; Grandmother Nancy Moore, along with nieces and nephews Lauren, Hope, Riley, Regann, Jacob and Jett, and special friend William Moore.
Preceding her in death were her stepmother Jill Atencio, great- Grandmother, Loretta Hahn, as well as nephew and niece, Donnie and Diamond Hunter.
A celebration of life for Landy will be held Monday, October 16, 2023, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel at 212 E. 6th St., Vinton, IA.
