IOWA CITY — Iowa football did not list starting left guard Nick DeJong, backup running back Jaziun Patterson and backup wide receiver Kaleb Brown on its weekly depth chart ahead of the Wisconsin game.
DeJong also missed last Saturday’s game against Purdue after suffering an injury during Iowa’s Sept. 30 win over Michigan State. Rusty Feth, the Miami (Ohio) transfer, started in place of DeJong and is again listed as the first-teamer on this week’s depth chart.
Patterson has not played since Iowa’s Sept. 16 game against Western Michigan with a lower-leg injury. First-team running back Kaleb Johnson and second-teamer Leshon Williams both are available, though.
Brown did not play last weekend against Purdue because of “personal reasons,” Iowa Coach Kirk Ferentz said after Saturday’s game. The former four-star recruit does not have any receptions since transferring from Ohio State.
Third-team tight end Addison Ostrenga also is not listed after missing last week’s game against Purdue. Johnny Pascuzzi is the third-teamer while Ostrenga is out.
On the defensive side of the ball, Deavin Hilson has the second-team cornerback spot behind Jermari Harris in place of Deshaun Lee, who was not available against Purdue.
Exclusion from the Monday depth chart does not guarantee the athlete is unavailable, however. Johnson, for example, was not on last Monday’s depth chart, but played without any injury designation against Purdue.
