Linda Kay Dailey, 76, of Marion, Iowa, passed into eternity on Sunday, Sept. 24, 2023, surrounded by her beloved family. Linda was known for her welcoming smile, which allowed her to make friends with almost anyone. Linda persevered and she loved life! Throughout her life, she experienced many challenges, but she took them head-on. In the end, she was at peace and was ready to go be with her Lord and Savior Jesus. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 13, at Creekside Bible Church, 1410 44th St., Marion.
Linda was born Jan. 9, 1947, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Charles Hoover and Agnes Gillis. She graduated from Washington High School in 1965. After high school, Linda worked for Rockwell Collins. She later took a position with L’Eggs and became a highly successful regional manager with the corporation. In 1982, she married Tari Dailey and welcomed her stepdaughter, Angela. Soon after, Dawn came. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. Her greatest joy was being with her daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren.
Linda was the oldest of three children, and she cared deeply for her younger sister (Sandy) and brother (Richard). She was a kind, loving and protective sister. Growing up, Sandy adored her and wanted to be with her constantly. She always loved Linda with all her heart and will continue to carry cherished memories of their lives together. Linda valued family time and loved spending time with her nieces and nephews. Linda’s daughter (Dawn) and husband (Daniel) blessed her with four incredible grandchildren. Linda’s greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren. Through her life with Dawn and Daniel, she embraced her Savior and her faith blossomed.
Survivors include her daughter, Dawn Dietz (Daniel); grandchildren, Alena, Azaryah, Hosanna and Selah; stepdaughter, Angela Litts (Brian); her sister, Sandra Stripe; sister-in-law, Patricia Hoover; nieces and nephews, James Hoover (Amber), Sarah Wright (Timothy), Jennifer Lane (Kirk) and Kelly Brown (Thadeous); and great-nephews and great-nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Hoover and Agnes Gillis; her brother, Richard Hoover; and nephew, Jason Stripe.
Linda cherished her grandchildren, and would be honored to have memorial funds directed to their college funds. Funds can be mailed or deposited to Linda Dailey Memorial Fund at Linn Area Credit Union, 3015 Blairs Ferry Rd. NE, Cedar Rapids, IA 52402.
