Marlene M. Murdock, 76, of Marion, Iowa, passed away on Oct. 1, 2023, at Terrace Glen Village. A funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, Oct. 10, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Marion.
Marlene was born Sept. 10, 1947, in Manchester, Iowa, to Archie and Mary (Farrell) Keenan. After high school graduation from Manchester High School, she attended classes at Upper Iowa University. On Feb. 24, 1968, Marlene was united in marriage to Dennis Murdock. Their union was blessed with two sons, Ryan and Garrett. She worked at Farmer’s State Bank in Marion for many years as a teller and receptionist. Her life was devoted to raising her sons and volunteering at Linn-Mar community schools. She enjoyed spending time with her Yorkshire terriers, Ragni, Tarquenius, Morgan, Faith and Charlie.
Those left to cherish Marlene’s memory are her husband, Dennis; sons Ryan of Marion and Garrett (Bri) of Scottsdale, Ariz.; grandchildren Madison Mae and Parker Shae; brother Ken (Karen) Keenan of Marion; nieces Karen (Brett), Lisa (Phil), Kayla (Todd), Susan (Tom); and nephews Chad, Clinton, David.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Harold and John; sister Kathryn and nephew Patrick.
The family would like to extend their thanks to Mercy Hospice and the care team at Terrace Glen Village.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Cedar Valley Humane Society or the American Diabetes Association.
