Cherie Ann Steffenson, 64, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away unexpectedly after suffering a massive stroke on Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2023. Cherie was born March 7, 1959, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to Donald and Margaret Steffenson. There will be a private family service. Cremation rites have been accorded by Iowa Cremation.
She is survived by her mother, Margaret Steffenson of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; a sister, Linda (Todd) Sievers; two nephews, Colton and Dalton, all of Anamosa, Iowa; a daughter, Jessica Young of Kansas City; and a son, Michael Janaszak of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She also leaves behind her grandchildren Nicolas, Heavyn, Landyn, King, London, Jaiyah, Braydon, and Carrie. She was preceded in death by her father, Donald, and all her grandparents.
Cherie graduated from Kennedy High School in Cedar Rapids in 1976, then moved to Clinton, Iowa, and eventually moving back to Cedar Rapids. Cherie will be remembered as someone who loved her family very much. She also had a great sense of humor and was able to banter sarcasm back and forth, bringing laughter and smiles. There will be a private family service and she will be cremated thereafter.
