Iowa high school football 2023: Who the ranked teams face in Week 6

If you like seeing top-five Iowa high school football teams challenged on the road, Week 6 is the week for you.

Five teams ranked in the top five of their respective classes in this week’s Gazette poll visit ranked opposition this week. Among them are a pair of Class 5A unbeatens: No. 2 West Des Moines Dowling faces No. 6 Ankeny Centennial, while third-ranked Bettendorf takes on seventh-ranked Cedar Rapids Kennedy at Kingston Stadium.

Also in Cedar Rapids, 4A No. 8 Xavier hosts No. 4 North Scott. Just down the road is a 3A clash between sixth-ranked Mount Vernon and third-ranked Davenport Assumption to open the Mustangs’ new stadium.

And in Class 1A, No. 2 Underwood visits undefeated, fifth-ranked Treynor.
