Mildred Mary (Quimby) King passed away peacefully on Sunday, Sept. 24, 2023, at her home at age 99. Mildred was born on Aug. 6, 1924, in Spring Valley, Ill., to Howard James Quimby and Anna Mary Tiemann. She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Richard Lyle King; sons-in-law, Gladdin Grover, Harold Palmquist; and grandsons Ritchie King and Fred Palmquist.
She is survived by her children, Mary Ann Palmquist, Richard “Rick” (Stacy) King, Ron King, and Deborah Grover; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
A visitation will be held at the Cross Life Community Church, 5555 Mt. Vernon Road SE, Cedar Rapids, on Friday, Sept. 29, 2023, from 10 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m. with Pastor Eric Bennett officiating. Private interment will be held at the Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery-Garden of the Cross.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Hospice of Mercy.
