Sarah J. Parker, 87, of West Branch, died Sunday, Sept. 17, 2023.
Sarah Jane Davis was born Dec. 23, 1935, in Leon, Iowa, the daughter of Stanley and Elizabeth (Webb) Davis. Her family moved to Iowa City, where she graduated from City High School with the Class of 1953. She went on to attend both the University of Iowa and the Iowa City Commercial College. For many years, she worked as an administrative assistant in the Center for Labor and Management, the College of Dentistry and the Carver College of Medicine at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
Sarah enjoyed reading, music and gardening. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Iowa City, active as an Elder and a member of the choir for years.
Her family includes her sister, her two sons, Stephen and Thomas; three grandchildren, Nathan, Sophie and Andrew Spencer; and two great-grandchildren.
Sarah was preceded in death by her parents.
