Janann (Mork) Seabrooke, 88, died Thursday, Sept. 14, 2023. She was born on Feb. 8, 1935, in rural Clayton County, Iowa, to Kenneth and Georgia (Meyer) Mork. She graduated from Elgin High School in 1953 and Upper Iowa University in 1964. On June 2, 1957, she married Alan Seabrooke of Cedar Rapids. She taught Junior High Language Arts for 28 years in the Valley Community School District.
Jan is survived by her husband, Alan; her daughter, Jill (Randy) Mack; and her son, Timothy (Brenda) Seabrooke; eight grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; her sister, Nona (Wayne) Sawyer; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, a grandson, and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Saturday, Sept. 23, at 11 a.m. at Elgin Lutheran Church, Elgin, Iowa. Visitation will be Friday, Sept. 22, from 4 to 7 p.m. and one hour before services Saturday at the church.
