IOWA CITY — Iowa football’s 41-10 win over Western Michigan Saturday did not move the needle much in the Associated Press Poll.
The Hawkeyes (3-0) are ranked No. 24 in the AP Poll released Sunday afternoon — up one spot from last week.
Iowa’s next opponent, Penn State, remains ranked No. 7.
The Hawkeyes did not get many favors from the teams ahead of them in the AP Poll. The only ranked teams to lose over the weekend were No. 11 Tennessee (to unranked Florida) and No. 15 Kansas State (to unranked Missouri).
Other ranked Big Ten teams, aside from No. 7 Penn State, include No. 2 Michigan and No. 6 Ohio State. Maryland and Wisconsin received some votes.
Iowa also moved up in the Coaches Poll from No. 24 to No. 22 — its highest ranking of the season.
