Ronald M. Cowger Sr., 92, passed away Sept. 7, 2023, at home. A memorial visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday, Sept.11, at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home, Cedar Rapids.
Ronald was born June 13, 1931, in Ottumwa, Iowa, to Harry and Alice Cowger. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He worked for 31 years at Iowa Steel and another 10 years at Colonial Bakery before retiring in 1991.
Ronald is lovingly remembered by his wife of 68 years, Wanda; children, Charlene (David) Jaeger, Ronald Jr. (Valerie), Carla (Steve) Wimer, Kathi/Anna (Stan) Applegate; grandchildren, Jacob (Kimberly), David (Marsha), Colt (Jen), Dustin, Branson, James, Alex and Elise; six great-grandchildren; and many extended family members.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Rickey Lee and Donald Wayne; parents; and siblings, Harry Cowger, Wayne Edgington and Carol Edgington.
