William David Anders, 61, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away Thursday, Aug. 31, 2023, at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids. A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 7, at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories Stateroom. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 8, at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home, with a burial following the service.
William was born Nov. 8, 1961, to William and Lee Ola (Hutch) Anders in Des Moines, Iowa. He attended Kennedy High School and later enlisted into the U.S. Airforce. He worked for many years at Tree House. William loved to watch sports, and especially enjoyed watching basketball.
He is survived by his son, William David Anders II; his mother, Lee Ola Anders; and his sister, Sheryl Green.
William was preceded in death by his father, William Roy Anders.
The Anders family would like to thank everyone who has reached out to the family during this difficult time.
