Robert G. Stork, 90, died, Saturday, Sept. 2, 2023, at the Rehabilitation Center of Lisbon. The family will celebrate Robert’s life with a private Burial Ceremony. The family is being cared for by Stewart Baxter Funeral and Memorial Services, Mount Vernon.
Robert is survived by his significant other, Lois Baxa; daughters, JoAnn (Mark) Baker of Summerland Key, Fla., LuAnn (Dan) Yanna of Casa Grande, Ariz., and RuthAnn (Mark) Scheer of Lisbon; and brother, William (Dorothy) Stork of Lisbon. His family also includes many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Robert was born July 26, 1933, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Howard and Ruth (Wright) Stork. He attended country school in northwestern Cedar County before transferring to Lisbon, where he graduated in 1950.
Robert committed his life to all things agriculture. Over the years, he found joy in livestock production, crop farming, seed corn sales, training and sharing his beloved Haflinger team and much more. He volunteered his time in Cedar County to 4-H and FFA organizations as well as other ag related endeavors. In his late 60s, Robert began a new endeavor, working part time at Lloyd Table Company.
With the help of the people that knew and loved Robert, he planted more than 500 trees in recent years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lucille; and a great-grandson.
The family suggests that memorials be made to a conservation charity of your choice.
