Iowa City police request help investigating two assault cases

IOWA CITY — The Iowa City Police Department is seeking the public’s help in identifying a few individuals who investigators would like to speak to about two assaults that happened early Sunday.
The first assault happened at 12:31 a.m. Sunday at 125 Dubuque St. in the downtown Pedestrian Mall. A man was assaulted and knocked unconscious by another individual. The man was hospitalized for his injuries, according to a news release.
The second assault happened at 2:09 a.m. Sunday, in the alley off the 100 block of S. Clinton Street. Again, a man was assaulted by another individual and hospitalized for injuries, the release states.
Police released two photos showing multiple people in the downtown area who investigators want to reach. Anyone with information about either incident or the people pictured in the photos should contact Detective Trai Bunch at TBunch@iowa-city.org.
